课程简述：2019年12月，我执教苏教版小学英语教材五年级上册《English   culture》一课，在体现英语文化本质的基础上创造性使用教材，希望学生在探索、发现、应用的过程中，提升英语文化品格，学习用英语思维观察生活，感受学科融合的魅力，体会中西方文化在实际生活中的应用价值。

活动过程：

一、教学内容

围绕西方文化开展教学，授课课时为一个课时。

二、教学目标

1. 通过视频、图片、事物等，帮助学生了解各地名胜及西方文化小知识的英文表达。

2. 通过多媒体和图片等丰富的视觉听觉材料，创设生动自然的语言情境，使学生能从多个媒介接受信息，体验不同地域人文风俗的异同。

3.通过活动提升文化意识。

Step1  Warm up
  Sing a song: We’re going…

T: Boys and girls, Lets sing a song. (After singing)Do you like to travel?

Ss: Yes. /No.

Step2  Lead in

T: I know some of you like going on a trip. And I like to travel, too. The vacation is coming. I’m   going to travel around the world. I’m going by plane. I’m going to have a study tour in Australia.

 Step3: Presentation

 Part 1

1.        T: I’m going to travel around the word. First, I’m going to travel in China. 

The first stop     The Yangtze River. ( Show the picture of The Yangze River and teach the word.)

2. The second stop   Museum. ( Show the pic ture of Museum and teach the word.)

3. The third stop   Mount Tai. ( Show the picture of Mount Tai and teach the word.)
         ( Show the pictures of the places: The Yangtze River, Museum, Mount Tai, Beijing University,   Australia, UK, USA, Canada )  

Part 2

1.         Ask and answer

T: There are   many animals in the world.

Show pictures.

What can you see   in China/ Australia/ the UK/ the US……?

We can see pandas   in China.

We can see   kangaroos in Australia.

We can see bald   eagles in the US.

We can see polar   bears in Canada.

2.         T: I like nice food. What about you?

Talk about food   and drinks in different countries.

3.         Other differences

the ground floor   in the UK, policeman and fireman in the UK

the first floor   in the US, cop and firefighter in the US
